LOOKING BACK AT EASTON BUSINESS CENTRE
In January 2025 we packed up our things at Easton Business Centre and said goodbye to a place that was home to Modelu for four years, since the company moved to Bristol.
When we first moved into Unit 50 in 2021, Modelu was still a very small operation
Over the next few years we shifted between different spaces on site: Unit 21C in 2022, and then the Old School House in 2023 and 2024. Each move gave us a little more room as the business grew.
By 2022 we were in Unit 21C, where our scanning set-up was in full swing.
And grow it did: from two people to a team of seven. Along the way we launched new ranges, expanded into military figures and lifestyle portraiture through Modelu Studio, grew our catalogue, and continued to push the boundaries of what 3D scanning and printing can do for railway modelling.
In 2023 we moved into the Old School House - plenty of work, but also time for celebrations.
Easton gave us the room to experiment, to bring in new people, and to take Modelu from a one-man workshop into a proper team. It’s been a place full of memories, milestones and birthday cakes! And we’ll always look back fondly on our time there.
By 2024 the team had grown to seven, working together at the Old School House.
Four years, four moves, and countless memories — thank you Easton Business Centre!
