We kicked things off with a very happy Harrison. After some challenges with the scanner at the NEC last year, it’s now running exactly as it should and we’re pleased to say it’s performed flawlessly at the last two shows.
That reliability makes a huge difference when you're working live in front of customers.
One of the standout moments came on Sunday afternoon, when we carried out our youngest-ever scan at an exhibition - a 5-week-old!
The scan itself only takes a few seconds, but the level of detail we’re able to capture is remarkable. We’re really looking forward to sharing the finished result.
We were also delighted to welcome Anne from Great Eastern Models to the stand, who even had herself 3D scanned!
Conversations like these are exactly why exhibitions matter, not just for meeting customers, but for building relationships across the industry. There are some exciting discussions underway, so keep an eye out for updates!
More broadly, it was great to catch up with so many manufacturers and partners over the weekend.
These conversations are a key part of how new ideas and collaborations start to take shape.
We were also pleased to support Revolution Trains on their recent Class 93 announcement, producing the 3D-printed engineering prototype that was on display at the show.
It’s a great example of how our process can be used beyond figures, supporting manufacturers at an early stage of product development.
You can see it up close again this weekend at ModelRail Scotland.
During a quieter spell, I also caught Harrison taking a close look at a full-colour miniature version of himself.
This figure forms part of the exclusive A4 crew pack produced for Rails of Sheffield, and it drew a lot of attention over the weekend.
Seeing these figures in person really brings home what’s now possible with our full-colour process.
