Modelu Services

Order Suitability

You can place orders for Print Commissions and Design Commissions by contacting Modelu via email, via the contact page, or by phone call.  During the quotation phase there may be technical or other reasons why we cannot continue your order, even after acceptance.  Reasons may include infeasibility of the model for resin printing, such as oversize for the build volume or features which cannot be adequately supported without adversely affecting your model.  In all situations we advise accordingly and where possible before your order is accepted.

Prices and Payment

Prices are estimated during the quotation phase and can be subject to change.  Payment must be paid in full prior to printing via BACS, Cheque, Card Payment over the phone or Paypal.

Web Shop Sales

Prices

All prices are listed as E&OE and our best efforts are made to avoid errors in pricing.  All prices are subject to change without prior notice, however changes will not affect orders in progress during the time of change.

Print on Demand

Stock listed as ‘Print on Demand’ can be ordered with a 10 working day lead time.  These items are printed upon order and are not held in stock.   Any unforeseen delays (see Lead Times below) will be communicated via email.

Downloadable Products

Downloadable Products may not be sold, given, or assigned to another person or entity in the form it is downloaded from the website or in 3D printed physical form.  Any infringement may result in legal action.

STL File Downloads

At present our STL downloads are for personal use only, though we will look to add a commercial license in future. All files and links shared intended for the individual only and by downloading our STL files, you are agreeing to these terms. This document is a legal agreement between “you” (the Licensee) and us, “Modelu” “we” (the Licensors).

• Modelu own the STL files provided. The STL files are copyrighted.
• The STL files are available through our Website, Patreon, CGTrader and My Mini Factory
• The subscriber license allows you to download and print on your own printer. You can give prints to a friend but must not accept money as this is not a commercial agreement. You must not share the STL files.
• You must not sell, share, or upload the STL files to the internet for free. You cannot rent, gift, sell or transfer the STL files on any platform on or off the internet.
• You must not share the link or link password to access the STL Files with anyone
• You must not share discount codes for CGTrader or My Mini Factory with anyone
• You must not edit the STL files and you cannot use the STL files or parts of them to create new content. Our STL Files are copyrighted and belong to Modelu.
• You cannot make moulds from the printed miniatures to cast them in resin, plastic, metal or any other material.
• You cannot use the miniatures for any commercial venture or crowd funding campaign.
• You cannot use the STL files for digital renders or in computer games
• You cannot use photographs of the printed miniatures for commercial gain.
• You can cut or resize the STL files for example to print in other scales, but you cannot share these derivatives.
• Modelu reserve the right to ban any patrons or customers from accessing our STL files if you break our terms and conditions.
• The license for use of the STL Files lasts for 20 years, but we reserve the right to amend this timeframe.
• Modelu has no liability for any data loss or corruption or damages caused to systems, 3D Printers, data storage devices, computers or health caused by the STL Files.
• Modelu STL Files are provided ‘as is’. We have no obligation to provide support for using the STL Files, though we will always try to help where possible. We cannot guarantee the STL Files will be optimised for use with all 3D Printers.
• Our files are designed for use with DLP, SLA or MSLA resin printers. We cannot guarantee they will work for FDM or other types of 3D Printing.
• Modelu owns the copyright to our logos, images, photos, digital content, files, 3D designs, concepts, and written content, and all other future media formats we may use.
• Any theft, redistribution, resale, imitation, licensing, leasing or claimed ownership of Modelu copyrighted material will be in infringement with copyright law and will be pursued.
• Modelu reserves the rights to revise these terms and conditions at any time.

General

Lead Times

All lead times are estimates and are not in any way a guarantee of order completion.  We work on best endeavours for urgent orders, but unpredictable factors such as machine failure, power cuts and acts of God may affect your order completion date.  In such an eventuality the customer will be contacted via email and a prominent message displayed on the website homepage.  Planned absence such as holidays which may affect lead times will be communicated via the website and Facebook page.

Shipping

Shipping is by Royal Mail and goods are dispatched within 3 days of receipt of order for stocked goods and 3 days of print completion for Service prints or Print on Demand.  All packages are dispatched in protective packets or boxes.  Orders from the UK over £50 receive free tracked 24 shipping, orders over £75 for the rest of the world receive free tracked shipping.

Cancellation and Returns

Service and Print on Demand prints cannot be cancelled once they go into production.  Webshop orders for stocked products can be cancelled within 14 days, in such a case please inform Modelu via email or phone call and return the items within a further 14 days.  Return postage is only paid in the event of a faulty or incorrect item.  Refunds are given in full including postage for items that have not been opened or damaged in any way.

Intellectual Property Rights

All submitted 3D designs for Print Commissions remain your own intellectual property, unless you explicitly grant Modelu the right to distribute and share information or images of your design.   This does not include distribution of the 3D design source file(s).    We are happy to sign non-disclosure or confidentiality agreements where necessary.

3D Scanning Model Consent & Release

Your personally commissioned 3D body scan meshes, prints or images thereof are not merchandised, distributed, shared or displayed without your explicit permission via a signed Model Release Form.   Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must also sign the Model Release Form.

Privacy Policy & GDPR Regulations

This privacy policy sets out how Modelu uses and protects any information that you give Modelu when you use this website.

Personal Information

Your personal information such as email addresses, telephone numbers and addresses is held on secure servers protected physically and electronically.  Your personal information is not provided to any third parties.

This information is used solely for: sending you products purchased through the website, sending you email notifications that you have specifically requested, and to send you an email newsletter (if opted for).

All our website financial transactions are handled through our payment services provider, SagePay.   Financial information such as credit/debit card details are never held in any form.  All financial transactions entered through the website are protected by secure encryption technology.

Mailing List

When you place an order you can opt-in to have your email added to our mailing list.  This is not enabled by default.  If you register and change your mind, you can be removed from the mailing list by emailing us at info@modelu3d.co.uk 

Changes

Modelu reserve the right to makes changes to the website, services, pricing, lead times and these Terms and Conditions at any time.   Any changes do not affect orders that are in progress during the time of changes.
