Minerva Manning Wardle K Class
The 'K's were built over the 1864-1914 period, during which over two hundred and fifty examples were built. This design became perhaps the classic six-coupled contractors' engine, though significant numbers were sold to coal companies whilst a small number of others went to cement, lime, brick, waterworks or mining companies. Also some were originally supplied new to ‘light’ railway companies including the Van Railway, the Oxford & Aylesbury Tramway and the Isle of Axholme Light Railway
