2020 Review

Happy New Year to all our customers 🥳 thank you all for making a very challenging year one of our busiest ever. January 2020 saw us relocate to Bristol and Nicola joining the team. With a full programme of exhibitions including our first one overseas, Nicola got stuck in straight away. Just a few weeks later, lockdown hit, shows were cancelled we made the decision to move the business home.

Your patience helped enormously during those weeks as we adjusted to home working. Without exhibitions to go to, many of you helped us with new figures by allowing scans from previous shows to be added to the range. It was also a time for development, working on new products such as the architectural details and our new product catalogue. We also launched our Modelu Modellers Facebook group for sharing tips, ideas and techniques, now at over 1000 members.

Working with Dan Evason of @tunnellanemodelrailways on the Barmouth, Porthmadog and Barton Road dioramas generated a flurry of new ideas and products. We look forward to coming up with new exciting products with Dan in the future.

Belle joined us in the summer, helping us to turn orders around more quickly and freeing me up for more time on product development. Scanning sessions at preserved railways helped us keep new products coming, with thanks to Nick Willcox, Jamie Green and Jack Walker at the SVR and Thomas Macey and Kevin Dare at Didcot. One such project was a first for Modelu, producing full colour 3d printed figures for Masterpiece models.

2021 has much more in store for us, we have a new larger office to move into later in January and in February we’ll have another new addition, my baby daughter is due! Thanks for all your orders, ideas, support and patience during 2020, it is much appreciated!

Very detailed models at ‘O’ gauge. have bought others but these are by the the best. Looking forwards to building up a collection of the railway figures.
